Functions of Internet for Scholars

Nowadays, about quarter of Earth’s population use internet. There are so many people use internet because it has many functions for example like searching information, chatting, transferring data, and many more. Not only for common people, but internet also have many functions that can support scholar in their study. And there are some functions of internet for scholars.

First, internet can increase knowledge because we can search any information that we need through internet. It’s very simple because we can search any information just by typing some words and the page will display any information related to the words that we typed. It will very helpful because not all knowledge is available on the books or studied in the class.

And the second, internet can help us to do our tasks. We can search any references, pictures, or videos which related to our tasks through the internet. It will be very useful especially when the information that we were search is not available in the books. And we also can discuss the group’s task via chat conferencing. So we can discuss with our group and also show the example’s data for the task.

The third, in some school, internet was used for do the online task, quiz, or exam. For example like online task. The teacher will put the questions in a website or send it via e-mail to all of the students. After that, the students will do the task and send it back to the teacher after the finished or just submit it if the teacher put the questions in a website. Sometimes, there are some teachers who will do the exam online or in the other word is a real time exam. The students must online in the promised time and answer the questions with the limited time just like the usual exam in the classroom.

The fourth, internet can be use for submit the tasks. This is really helping the students because they can submit their task easier after finished it. They can send it via e-mail or data transferring. It’s also helpful for the students who can’t go to school because of sick, etc because they can submit the task on time through the internet in their home although they can’t go to the school due to their sickness.

The fifth, internet can be use for do the TOEFL, IELTS, IQ test or any other tests online which usually needed as a requirement to entering school or many more. Because there are some schools that will do the test online to test the ability of the students who want to enter there, especially in the school that located in other country. And online tests also can be use for training our ability before we face the real test because usually the questions in the online test are just the same with the real test.

Sixth, we can use internet to search for scholarship. There are some schools in this country or other country that offer scholarship. So, the students who want to get scholarship just need to register and fill the applying pages that available in those schools’s official site and submit it via the internet. After that they will receive e-mail for any further information.

And the last, we can use internet to searching any info of school that we want to enter. It’s very useful for the graduate students who don’t know any information about the schools that they want to enter. Almost of the schools have official website that contain so many information about the school itself. So the graduate student can choose school that suit for them or they really want to enter.

And the conclusion, actually internet has so many useful functions for scholars although some of us still don’t realize it. As the scholar, we must dig the potential of the internet that can help us in our study deeply. So, we can get many advantages from internet as the scholar.
